HORSESHOE BAY FIRE, POLICE AND EMS ASSISTANCE FUND

A special fund was established on August 30, 2001 to provide a resource for Horseshoe Bay's emergency assistance personnel in the event of any personal crisis.  The fund is managed by a seven member panel made up of two directors from the Martin Foundation, the general manager and police chief of the Lake LBJ Municipal Utility District, and three residents of Horseshoe Bay.

This fund is supported by an annual golf tournament sponsored by the Tall Texas Bar & Grill, and other special events.  The first annual golf tournament, held at Meadowlakes C.C. on October 15, 2001, helped to establish the fund with a little over $3,500.  Excess donations from the WTC fund raiser were placed in this fund bringing the total to just over $4,000.00 as of July 02, 2004

A golf tournament is scheduled for October 14th at Delaware Springs Golf Course.  For more information about the tournament CLICK HERE.  To sign-up please call (830) 596-.2024.

Click for an enlargement of the check. In the wake of events on September 11th, the Martin Foundation was asked to help with a fund raising event to provide assistance to the victims in New York.  A new "Special Events" fund was created to provide a means for separating one-time events from the other foundation operations.  On October 11th, a Fish Fry was held in Horseshoe Bay.  Net proceeds from the event were nearly $9,200.  An appeal, to increase our gift to $10,000 was made to citizens and Chamber of Commerce members in the community.   This brought in an additional $1,400 for a total of $10,597.00.  On November 4, 2001, the Martin Foundation sent a check for $10,000 to the New York State World Trade Center Relief Fund.  The balance of the special events fund was transferred to the HSB Assistance Fund.
