Horseshoe Bay Fire, Police & EMS Employee Assistance Fund

A special fund was established on August 30, 2001 to provide a resourse for Horseshoe Bay's emergency assistance personnel in the event of any personal crisis.  The fund is managed by a seven member board of trustees made up of two directors from the Martin Foundation Board, the General Manager, Police Chief and Fire Chief of the Lake LBJ Municipal Utility District, along with three residents of Horseshoe Bay.

In the event of a personal need, emergency assistance employees can make a request to their supervisor.  The board of trustees evaluate such requests on a case-by-case basis.

This fund has been supported for several years by an annual golf tournament sponsored by the Tall Texas Bar & Grill.  As of December 31, 2005 the fund has a balance of just over $27,000.  During the four-year history of the fund, only two requests have been made, both of which were funded.
